1st 2 wks of school

Well, now i'm actually in a business class in the 3rd wk of school, but this class reminds me so much of SMU classes, so i finally got time to blog haha. Well as mentioned b4, in the 1st wk had loads of classes to go to, errands to run and classes to drop/add. Finally finalized at spanish, french, international business and internet business application. They teach language as if u shld already know it (which unfairly, most of them already do quite a bit), so kinda hard to catch up. So i went back to spanish lvl 1 too, cos lvl 2 a lot more work i would have to do to catch up, and since they allow...besides, they still talk a lot faster and learn much faster! Lucky i already learned basics in SMU!

During the first wk was when a whole bunch of us went to the first ever pub tt i went in and drink at. So cheap! If i rem correctly, it's like 4 bucks for a beer mug (found out tt was nothing, another place on thurs night was only a buck!). Had a few drinks tog and we taught each other the different ways to cheers in all our countries, and they loved 'yam seng' the best! So now whenever we drink, we do a 'yam seng' haha. Other cheers we had were fm hungary, france, peru, czech republic, spain, slovakia...

I'm walking ard quite a bit here, and even tho its cold so won't sweat, its so hilly here so quite tiring, but it's gd exercise. And since the 2 nearby groceries and the korat centre (big ass awesome sports centre) are at far separate corners, i really really get to walk ard a lot. Buses take quite a while to come and cheapo school don't give bus passes to exchange students, and ONLY to us! So most of the time, we just try to cover the pass such tt it's like just covering where the sticker suppose to be haha. So mafan, and sometimes get caught...but since we are student of USF (which shld all get the sticker in the first place) they usually let us go. SO anyways, i prefer to walk then.

Been buying quite a bit of groceries and cleaning supplies. Quite ex to eat out, and even so in the cafeteria! Abt US$6 to eat in the cafeterias and tt's a standard! If like u want w/o other stuff, its still 6 buckaroos! So far i've (tried to) cooked fried rice w lop chiong, chicken rice w lop chiong (more like porridge cos i hadda add water), steak, breaded fried pork (really yummy) and stir fried veg w mince beef (really really yummy). And of cos some instant noodles, leftovers, hashbrowns, frozen spicy drumlets. Been brought out to eat at a few places: king of thai 2 (really gd, and i thanked them in their way, so they tot i was thai haha, how does hello and thank u go again glor?), house of nan king (quite gd chinese good, but i'm looking for cantonese food still), mel's drive-in diner. OH and a friend's (gergely = greg) friend (richard) cooked for a bunch of us at my place: mexican food. I'm still looking out for dark sauce, pork ribs, and sliced meat still. Wanna make bak kut teh! haha...and mash potatoes and rosti... Pots i'm using are my roommates and they kinda suck...so hard to cook things like rice. But at least got dish washer, so its cool.

Sometimes we will just go and buy drinks back to our apartment and play drinking games and such. Glor: we played kings too, but theirs more standardized and proper, more 'stuff' to do! And "i've never" and funny action games. BUT maybe cos in sing we play so much (cos nothing else better to do), esp in church and all, i do so much better than all of them haha. Hay crys, I bet if i played Indian rat race i will win every time. Had a couple of other house parties too. One at justin's and billy's apartment, 2 locals schooling here. but they're underage, so me and erin (my roommate) had to go out to buy beers. And a lot of girls who came were so young, and they off the lights and blasted music and such so they could dance, on table top and all, so it was kinda boring. Me, erin and greg(hungarian) left early at abt 12am and was hungry, so erin brought us to jack-in-the-box and drove to a few pretty cool places to look-see.

School has been ok. Spanish and french got lotsa work to do, so the french (isabelle, adeline, pierre maxime and phillipe [french but live in spain]) try to teach me whenever we go out tog, which is like almost everyday. For IB, its just like a normal business class with case studies to read and do, and loads of reading. IBA has quite a cool teacher so i'm glad to change to it. Had to do my first assgn which took me so long, hadda do a website, css sheet and ubuntu linux livecd. Hadda figure out all the different codes, instructions, tryouts, etc. etc. but i think i had learn pretty fast, for someone who kinda dislike the internet and computer shinitz.

The first wkend we all went out to eat after the basketball game USF vs i-can't-rem-who. Then to the thai place and all. Sunday richard brought me, greg, adeline and isa to drive up north. We left late cos kinds stayed out till late last night. Had subways, drove thru some windy places, and houseboats, hiked up the muir woods (really good exercise), hiked down to the beach (was heading to stanton beach, but road close) and by nightfall, b4 we crossed over the golden gate bridge again, we went up a tall hill to take really good photos, but it was freezing up there. Den we had good cheap pizza b4 heading home.

Last wkend, I can't seem to rem wad i did on sat..for now..but on sunday, i was invited to a SuperBowl party, to watch the first match of the season, chicago bears vs indianapolis colts, and the colts won! Thanks to Peyton Manning, the MVP! It was so cool! Greg, me, iza, adeline and pierre went. It was greg's friend who stayed at his house when he went to hungary. The local guys there taught me the game, so finally i understand it!

Another thing here, well, EVERYBODY i hang out with basically smokes, so i'm trying to be the 'angel's' advocate and remind how bad smoking is haha. And i don't drink as much as most here, well, at least those drunk ones. AND weed here is pretty easily available. I've been offered to smoke it like about 10 times already. What a change from Singapore system! It smells like some herby aromatheraphy, like chinese tea tt makes your head spin/high a little. Everyone's like shocked that i haven't/don't smoke it at all, haha. My excuse is that here it will only get confiscated and maybe 1 night in jail here/europe(of which 2 of girl friends here hv ganna b4! i was so shocked! Nvr even know any one our age who's been in jail, except maybe 1), but in Singapore it's way more ex, not that available and i think u go to jail/rehab for like many many years, am i right? I'm not even sure. Everyone here says now that i'm here, its my chance to try w/o crazy repercussions, but i can happily tell them i'm not interested in killing my body, merci.

Well that's my very very long update and thanks if u've been patient enuff to even bother to read thru! i will TRY to upload SOME photos next time.
