more movies and les vacances printemps and falling sick

well, i waited too long to do this blog, so can't remember much already. Anyways, on friday after my class, we went to Berkeley to make sure of the way to the University and where lance will park and have his exam. On the way, made a couple of pitstops when we saw some dog shelters haha. Had great Indian food, even bought some frozen naan and popaddum back. Went back to SF and catched another movie "Children of Men" at Westfield Bloomingdales but it sucked. The poster looked really good, but the movie left much to be desired.

Sat lance went for his exam and i did homework the ENTIRE DAY. My roommates tot i was crazy, doing work all day on the first day of spring break. But it was good for me to do so, cos nvr did much work since spending time w lance. And he came back 7 hrs ltr, totally shacked, so we ate instant noodles... We cooked dinner to try to finish up all the food leftover too. He slept early but i couldn't cos anticipation of leaving the next day. Packed my bag and all, and slept at 330am!

Woke lance up to go shower at 630am, but we all fell aslp. And apparently, everyone overslept too! I was the only one packed too! What a start... I woke at 8am and woke everyone up, picked up greg, giselle and chris and off we go...at 1030am... drove till Monterrey and went to the Fisherman's Wharf to eat where we hadda duck seagull guano (chris ganna haha)! First time greg saw and tried oysters too. Den headed straight down to greg's uncle's house, stopping for dinner, b4 reaching no-man's-land, our nickname for it. No reception there!

On Monday, we headed down in 2 vehicles, 1 of which was a qute pink lorry i rode w greg haha. Met richard, iza, adeline and pierre at Venice Beach. Played a bit of soccer, taught them ultimate frisbee. And swimming and playing in the waves even tho Pacific Ocean water was cold. Just as i abt to go in, adeline comes running up screaming and told me there was a shark in the water, i was like WHAT! So looked for it, and at first didn't believe her, maybe she saw a bird or smt. But she insisted it was so, so i kept looking, and there were 3 dolphines! Almost right up the beach! I ran into the water and tried to get as close as i could, and the rest believed my animal knowledge and ran in after me too. But the guard whistle us back, cos didn't know we weren't suppose to be more than chest deep in water. But it was cool nevertheless. After the beach, walked along the canals of houses nearby, was cool and understood its name finally. Dinner at a thai place, food was not bad, but portions so so small, we kept ordering but still felt hungry. Phillippe and monica joined us there as well. Anyways, our car (meaning me, lance, giselle, greg and chris normally) without greg went to 'town' which is Hollywood! Looked ard, bought smt for greg's Name Day, and met the rest at Richard's place for a bonfire in his backyard. Back at no-man's-land, me and giselle slept in the bedroom, boys outside. lance on the couch, chris on the floor, greg on floor of another room.

Next day we all went to Disneyworld, but as usual, left late and arrived late too. It was a shame for philippe, cos Monica didn't want to go to Disneyland, and wouldn't drive him, so he couldn't go, so poor thing. Most of time inside, me and lance split up cos moving in a big group was much too slow, we wanted roller coasters (greg wouldn't sit on them and chris not on drops...boys these days..) and wanted to stay in Disney Adventureland longer as i've nvr been in it. After leaving them, we rode all the roller coasters, multiple times even! Then met them at Disneyland after the parade. Had a few more rides and fun b4 heading out for dinner and back home.

Wed the others all left for San Diego, but we stayed 1 more day. Greg spent the day mainly w his uncle, Chris hung ard and went trekking w my shoes, we 3 headed out to see the lady at Santa dunno-wad tt treated woopie's ears, for pup's skin. Took so long there and spent US$200 on her stuff! Giselle's uncle friend came to meet us, had lunch and he invited us on a helicopter ride, but we turned him down cos we wanted to see this really cool birdshop. BUT the birdshop had closed down, and the helicopter not enuff fuel, haha. SO met for dinner at a great chinese place, headed to town for a bit of shopping and back home again. Sat outside with dog (Roxy - a bit old, but no enuff exercise so had artiritis, but now whenever see me, so crazy and run. maybe dog sjust go crazy ard me...hmmm) chris and greg, had some liquor and star-gazed. Talked and spotted the Great Dipper.

Next day we packed and headed for San Diego, BUT thanks to the guys, we only left at abt 2pm, which included having to go to IHOP for a good breakfast. I tahan it all, cos i know i was compromising on we leaving on sunday, not sat. So i woke on time and all, packed everything and did some french homework. Of cos, playing with roxy was a must and that released all tension. Tho and giselle was totally annoyed, i was carefree. We reached SD late cos of jams, checked in the motel (lance was satisfied w it so it was ok). After richard's car (meaning PM, adeline, iza and richard) finish their showers, we went to Old Town for dinner all together (all 11 of us). But all were closed or closing, so we headed to Shill...(can't rem exact name or spelling) and food was yummy! Den as we were gonna head back, we were suppose to go buy stuff and drinks first, but lance suddenly had a call, so i took over driving. BUT it was a while since i had drove, and it was left hand drive and, it was a big ass rented suv, and, i admit, it wasn't the best idea to start practise driving when it is dark, so i was a little off in the steering, veering more the right on a small one lane rd with no streetlights, i couldn't see clearly, and wasn't used to driving so dark. Lance tot i was gonna hit the curb, so he signalled an emergency brake, of which i obeyed just slightly, so car jerked. But that was it! Greg became angry and insisted of taking over driving, saying its not a game, but i felt he really over-reacted. I mean, firstly, i didn't treat it as a game. So i made a mistake in driving, big deal...i wanted to drive BECOS i wasn't good at left-hand drive and wanted to practice to be better at it. And the mistake was just in veering right, i didn't hit anything, it wasn't dangerous driving (of which greg did so after taking over, making his statement that it is not a game even more dumb and scary for us cos he was harshly accelarating and braking). Even if i did hit a kerb, there will only be a bump! i mean, everyone has hit the kerb before, it aint a big deal. I can't hv as much practise as the guys becos i dont have my own car like them, so how do u expect girls to be good drivers with lack of practise? He did apologise after that and we reasoned it was he was scared (i mean he is scared of roller coasters) but i didn't feel like joining them after that. Went to bed, but lance mistook my not very happiness for smt he did, so it was a bad night.

Next day, as predicted, they all couldn't wake up for San Diego zoo, so lance and i headed to SeaWorld where we had a BLAST! It was fantastic and we managed to watched all the animal shows even! SO so great. Didn't hear fm the rest (they were just gonna see the town), so lance brought me into town to show me what it was like. We drove ard, trying to look for Little Italy, but found a pretty main street instead and decided to park and find food there. Saw TGIF and wanted to eat tt as i've missed it so much, but lance didn't want American food, so we went to Star of India instead, before heading home to hang out together and rest.

On Sat, we all went to San Diego zoo together, yeah! I was surprised the rest could wake up and join us actually. Anyways, Chris left with Monica and Philippe (he had been left out in the car cos me-lance, and greg-giselle....but not our fault and he was kinda a little being irritating anyways, so we were rid of him, poor guy). We went thru the zoo tog, and when richard's car and greg left at 3pm, lance, giselle and i saw the rest of the zoo. Amazing stuff, with mostly endangered animals on conservation efforts. Seen many animals i've nvr seen b4 too, which is saying smt... After that, we tried to find Italy town again, but end up walking ard in circles, thanks to the directions of locals. So fed up, we went to the first place we came to, a Sushi bar (its really a bar!), which was interesting and different and yummy. On the way back to the car, i got hold of a map which had Little Italy, so we drove thru instead. And tried to find a spot to park to look at the airport but couldn't find a good spot. What was interesting abt San Diego was that the airport was right next to the city! (its a small city) I mean, the airport is closer to town than the motel was...

On sun, 3 of us went to a pet shop, then to Little Italy for pasta and then up an old naval aircraft carrier. Another interest point of SD was that there was a strip across the long bridge that is all US Navy bases...and many many ships and planes and military stuff. So we took an audio tour thru the carrier, it was not bad, learnt new stuff. Then head to LA to pick greg up, and back home. Reached loyola at abt 3am.

Mon had monday blues to be back in school again. Afternoon was totally shopping for me and lance since it was the last day he had here. Bought > US$500 stuff i think: PS games (like 6 of them i think), nike pants, doggy raincoats, dad's lighthouse poster, adidas duffel bag, doggy baked goodies... We headed home, went to the Koret center for my indoor soccer game (we lost again, no surprises there, esp w guys who don't pass, think girls are no threat, not follow the captain's order of one-to-one, and basically no teamwork) but i did score a brillant goal, thanks to a pass fm pierre, so that was fantastic. The competition was rough, and i got shoved off (had a free kick) and elbowed in the neck. But i got him back, haha, by stealing his ball, and showing a couple of guys that girls aren't push-overs. Rushed home for a shower and we all (greg, richard, iza, adeline) went to Geogio's for dinner, b4 lance left for Singapore.

Tue i was sick, so missed the whole day of school. Started w sore throat and now have running nose and fever and all. I boiled a chicken herbal ginseng soup for lunch and dinner. On wed, i had a french test, so woke at 6am to study, and forced myself to school. Rest the whole afternoon and boiled vege soup w tang hoon for dinner.

Thurs is today, and again i am in IB class. Still feel like shit and all. Yet have a starbucks case study due w my partner next wk and gotta go for makeup class for spanish conversation. Anyways, greg found of a discount stay in Aruba in the Caribbean for $150 a wk. At first planned to go straight after exams, but due to their visa problems, they wanna go b4 exams, but i don't really wanna skip class. This is my dilemma: One wk of classes is a lot to miss - that doesn't mean i can't catch up - its too obvious for me to miss a wk of classes (esp for those classes with 3 and 4 small classes a wk) - but students who go on exchange do this all the time - but everybody doing it doesn't make it right. So anyways, i'm stuck. But no matter, even if i decide not to go, i can always go w lance next time and i'm sure we'll find a more 'comfortable' place to stay haha.
